I found myself one just itching for some white water!! So, along with some ‘family’ members we flew off to Lewiston, Idaho and the Snake River!! Some great white water rafting on the Snake River. Rapids can get up to class III, it’s good for the whole family!! Rapids like ‘Hell’s Canyon’ sound invincible but doable!! We camped Riverside nightly and saw the most amazing skies, with the obvious exception of the Northern Lights😃!!!
Lewiston was our home base! What a quaint little town along the rivers edge! We enjoyed little cafes and good ole country western music and dancing while in Lewiston!! The River provides some quiet floating too! Enough for you to jump in and swim along side the raft! Some of the rapids were exhilarating!! I often wore my ‘Kilimanjaro’ hat as a badge of honor, but one day we were suddenly hit with rapids. Our guide was aware but failed to warn us. As a result my hat flew off and was lost somewhere in Idaho!! Happy trails to the one who know enjoys the fruits of my labor! Of course, now I must return to climb the mountain again and deserve to buy a Kilimanjaro hat😃!!!
We eventually collided with the Salmon River. Rather uneventful but somewhat unique! Great white water rafting can be found on that river as well!!! The food was great, the scenery was fantastic, and the white water rafting was phenomenal!!! However, this has only triggered an internal drive leaving me wanting much more!!
Therefore I am putting together the most amazing adventure!! Not only will I be doing a local Snake River rafting adventure, but I am putting together a white water rafting adventure to the Zambezi River and Victoria Falls!! This will include 5 days of rafting up to class V, 4 days of Safari and the ‘big 5’, and an optional trip to Zanzibar for scuba diving!! Keep a lookout for that adventure!! Both will be put up on my website for early summer (Snake River) and late summer (Zambezi) of 2022!!
